I first saw Vic play in the Summer of 1987. I was 20 years old. It ended up being one of the most important nights of my life. I owe him more than anyone will ever know. It's very hard to believe he's gone.
Thanks for all your thoughts.
I hope to have this film to all of you who would like a copy very soon.

Speed Racer: Welcome to the World of Vic Chesnutt is a half-hour documentary film. It introduces the audience to the then twenty-seven year old singer/songwriter from Athens, Georgia. The recording of Vic's second album is used as a vehicle to enter Chesnutt's all-impressionistic world. Vic's a uniquely talented Southern lyricist whose songwriting is paralleled by few. Through song and interview, he speaks to the audience in his own unique southern tongue. In the end this film captures an incredible musician in the early days of an extraordinary career.
