Sweet Magnolia Blooming celebrates the blues. Set in and around picturesque Thomson, Georgia this video captures the magic of the Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival. Blind Willie , one of the true pioneers of country blues guitar, was born just south of Thomson in 1901. An array of performers from around the U.S. make the trek to east Georgia each year to play at the festival. The musicians in this documentary include Little Charlie and the Nightcats, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, Peter Case, Paul Geremia, Chris Smither, and the late John Jackson.
